Hours: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days - including weekends, bank holidays and evenings.

Description: West Midland Safari Park currently has a permanent vacancy available for an Animal Keeper on our Ungulates Asia Section.

This is an exciting opportunity, where we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate the ability and knowledge to work with an extensive range of ungulate species including Greater one horned rhinos, banteng, anoa, camels, antelope, and deer.

The position involves husbandry tasks, such as feeding, cleaning, health monitoring and enclosure maintenance delivered to a high standard. The role also includes monitoring of our guests in our drive through reserves and may include some tasks in our lemur woods and African Village areas, so you must be confident front of house as well as behind the scenes.

About you

The role requires someone who is confident, motivated and enthusiastic about wildlife conservation and has excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will require good wildlife knowledge and have an animal related qualification to HND level or above. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience in a zoological collection, although full training will be given.

Due to the position being required to drive Company vehicles and accessing animal restricted areas, the successful candidate will need to hold a full, valid driving licence.

You will need to be flexible in your approach to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends, bank holidays and some evenings during special events throughout the year.
