Hours: 37.5 hrs over 5 days

Salary: from £50,000 to £60,000

Description: As the Financial Controller you will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial operation, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures that will ensure compliance with statutory legislation and Group regulations, whilst also achieving the economic efficiency of the company in line with agreed objectives.

Main duties of the post
• To plan, organise, coordinate and control the day to day activity of the Finance department, including payroll, daily reconciliation of all cash ledgers, on-site cash collections, and third-party payments.
• To coordinate the preparation and activities associated with the production of the annual budget, including ongoing reviews and monitoring of performance.
• To be responsible for controlling accounting operations, including the implementation, maintenance and control of systems using specific forms of financial control, in particular, revenue analysis and analytical cost accounting.
• To ensure cost controls by developing, implementing and monitoring processes and procedures that allow for the proper management of costs.
• To assist in investment analysis and proper fixed asset accounting.
• To oversee the inventory activities ensuring that all aspects are covered and that inventories are done in accordance with the accounting standards and group regulations.
• To prepare rolling cashflow forecasts to meet the needs of the company and in accordance with group requirements.
• To prepare month-end, mid-year and year-end accounts and ensure unqualified audit opinion; month-end submissions.
• To oversee the management and coordination of the different internal financial reporting activities for the company.
About you

You will have proven experience of working within a similar role, and will hold ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualifications. Your previous experience will provide you with sound knowledge of accounting and tax legislation. You will be proficient in finance and accounting software packages, as well as ERP systems.

You will be able to lead and develop a small accounting team, as well as providing leadership and financial guidance across a diverse workforce.
